Michael J. Banks was born in 1968 in Charlotte, Michigan. Having trusted Jesus for salvation from sin’s penalty as a young boy, he was raised in a Christian home and in the church. He is a fallen and imperfect man who by God’s grace has been saved through faith in Jesus Christ. In 1991 he graduated from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and in 1995 he went on to graduate from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Kelly, have made it their goal to serve the Lord over their more than 26 years of marriage. They have three children who have traveled with them to distant shores and have lived with them in foreign lands. Whether he is preaching a sermon, visiting someone over a cup of coffee, or sitting down at his computer to write a story, he hopes to always make it his goal to exalt God and to magnify the name of Jesus. To God be the glory!
Pastor Dave entered the pastoral ministry in 2010 and has served with DRBC since 2015. He is married and has three children. He graduated from Liberty University and he was ordained in 2013 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Imlay City, MI.
Pastor Dave loves to spend time with his family, participating in sports, kayaking, reading with a cup of coffee, building things, and just being outdoors. He feels called to teach and disciple young people and oversees our Impact Student Ministries.
